The Clinical Negligence Team have recovered very substantial sums of compensation for clients in a number of medical negligence claims. Here are a selection of our most recent successful cases:
A member of the Clinical Negligence Team, recovered £202,500 for a young boy who suffered an Erb’s Palsy injury to his right arm and who was right hand dominant. This affected his handwriting and his ability to progress in classes. His compensation included an element designed to enable him to buy specialist items of equipment, such as an adapted computer.
A member of the Clinical Negligence Team recovered £240,000 for a young girl who suffered an Erb’s Palsy injury of moderate severity which, in addition to its physical impact, affected her confidence levels and participation in school lessons.
Her compensation enabled her to purchase the therapy and equipment which was required as a result of her injury, including an intensive rehabilitation package. It was hoped that this would improve her ability to cope with her injury in the future.
Richard Coleman, a Partner in the Clinical Negligence Team, recovered £300,000 for Mrs M’s child, who at the time of birth developed shoulder dystocia. In trying to deliver the baby the doctor damaged the brachial plexus nerve and baby M was left with a useless arm.
The compensation allowed Mrs M to purchase specialist equipment and therapy to enable baby M to acheive his full potential as he grows up.
