The Clinical Negligence Team is committed to supporting clients and those who have experienced negligence during this difficult time, despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to address the challenges resulting from social distancing and the subsequent lockdown, we have a variety of solutions to enable us to continue helping our clients. The main actions we have taken are as follows:
Instead of our usual face-to-face meetings at the office, we are offering initial interviews via video conferencing, meaning clients can remain within the safety of their own home throughout the process.
Our team are experienced in speaking to people about their potential claim over the phone, and so location need not be an issue.
We can continue to obtain documents electronically in order to progress matters.
Any and all communications with our clients are sent via email or, if necessary, by post, for our clients to review, and although settlement may not happen for a number of years, we can transfer the funds by BACS.
It is still possible to get expert examinations via Skype, Microsoft Teams etc and so we can continue to progress cases.
We continue to hold settlement meetings, including mediations, via video conferencing so that claims are not delayed.
